Got back to work from Somerset this morning and my boss had left this on my desk. :) (Taken with Instagram)
I was in two minds about going away for work.
Tom and I have been living together for nearly a year (Where did that time go?!) and there hasn’t been a day since then that I haven’t seen him. Sometimes when I’m super stressed about work or something else that’s going on, all I want is for time on my own so I can have a good freak out and cry, get over it and then get back to normal without ruining anyone’s day.
But now I have had some time alone, I’ve realised that the days where I preferred being on my own have gone. I miss him so much. I literally cannot wait to finish work on Friday so I can go home and see him.
All I want is a hug.
This photo has confirmed to me that I have massive cheeks, a massive nose, an ape brow and bug eyes.
The depressing thing is they are only going to get worse if I lose any gorram weight.
So it turns out that being a vegan when you’re travelling is hella difficult.
Buy a sandwich from the train station? Nope. They’re either meaty, fishy or cheesey and all buttery.
Have lunch put on by the company during your training? See above.
Find something to eat on the hotel menu? Well they had mint risotto, but anyone who knows me will know my opinion of mint foods. IMO mint is for toothpaste and chewing gum - NOTHING else. And that’s only spearmint. Peppermint should just die.
So today I have eaten an apple and a side salad.
At this rate, I’m going to look like Kate Moss by Christmas… without the dodgy teeth.
Thanks for your suggestions. It’s all very new to me so still learning what’s good and what’s not. Thanks for your tip about the heating! A lot of people I have spoken to have said almond milk so I am going to have to give it a try.
That’s great that you get locally grown soy. I may have to have a look and see if anywhere near me does it.
Thanks for all your help :)

I’m starting a diary on this, starting from the 2nd day because I’m a rebel like that.
Today’s vegan delights consisted of 2 plums, an apple and a spicy sweet potato & salad wrap (which was one of the best things ever.)
I have learnt that cheese can be replaced with hummus in almost all situations and it is wonderful, considering I was a self confessed cheese addict.
I have also eaten more fruit in the past 2 days than I have in the past year I think. I have a new found love for it considering I have avoided it like the plague for my entire life. Still hate bananas though, that will never change.
Tomorrow the real challenge starts! 3 days of eating out and hotel dinners. Lets see how we go…
That sounds perfect - I will give it a try! Thanks :)
